WON MY 2ND “ASSAULT IN THE THIRD DEGREE” BENCH TRIAL

WON MY 2ND “ASSAULT IN THE THIRD DEGREE” BENCH TRIAL. After returning to Honolulu, Hawaii from San Francisco, California on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the next morning I prepared for my afternoon cases in Honolulu District Court, Criminal Courtroom 7B. In court, out of 14 cases, I had pre-trial conferences on 6 cases with 5 different opposing counsels and the judge. 2 cases could not be agreed upon between opposing counsels and I, thus these cases were headed for trial: an Assault in the 3rd Degree case (misdemeanor) and an Animal Nuisance case (violation). I went to trial on the more serious crime, the Assault in the 3rd Degree case where an adult male strangled another adult male who had physical challenges and has to use a wheel chair. I won this bench trial, which is my second win for an Assault in the 3rd Degree case, the most violent crime in district courts in Hawaii.
