We All Get Lonely Sometimes


We all get lonely sometimes. Whether you’re brokenhearted, on your own, a single parent, or trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents, we’re experiencing the same quiet nights together. Sure it may be dark but when we look out at the black sky, those stars keep twinkling at us and that moon keeps giving us light as if they are all telling us, “Everything will be alright.”

Tenacity


If I had to choose one word that best describes how I live, it would be “tenacity.” When I know what I want to do, I lock onto my vision of achieving my goal and work at it every day. I aim for the highest level of what I’m dreaming of so even if I fall short, I would still be at a really good place in my journey of life. Tenacity is what drives me through my failures. My Pearl City High School soccer coach Ron Mata would tell us, “Play with tenacity! Like a bulldog that bites and doesn’t let go.”

Kaizen


Kaizen is the Japanese word for “continuous improvement” and to change for the better. We work hard at a big goal little by little until we reach it, or attain a level much higher from the time we began the journey. No large goal can be accomplished overnight but rather over time through consistent efforts.

Inner Peace = World Peace

Benefits of Brown Rice


About 1.5 years ago, I switched to eating brown rice when I cook at home instead of white rice because of its many benefits. I still enjoy white rice every so often as a treat, especially when I eat at restaurants.

Exercise and Ocean Therapy Reduces Stress and Anxiety


Here’s a picture from my short 2.77 mile run along the coast of Ko’olina on 5/15/2017. After my run, I swam the length of Lagoon 4 six times. Exercise and being in and near the ocean is helpful in alleviating stress and anxiety. I’m grateful to live in Hawaii.

We too must strive to become a Buddha.


One of my influencers, Shakyamuni Buddha, a human who chose the path of love and compassion, and one of the greatest teachers of self-development who wanted all of us to be happy and peaceful as we face our difficult feelings of sadness, fear, and anger.
