My 55 Gallon Fish Tank

My tank was sitting with just water for several months after my Koi fish died.  On Tuesday, June 15, 2009, I cleaned out my tank and bought 2 Blue Gouramis, 12 Neon Tetras and some plants for my 55 gallon tank.  Since I was a young kid, I have enjoyed raising fish.  It is very relaxing to watch my new fish swim late at night.

  1. I have a bunch of plants if you want some. Lemme know. I think it’s this type: http://www.aquariumplants.com/PhotoDetails.asp?ShowDESC=N&ProductCode=sa066

      Hey Dave,

Cool, maybe. Those plants look good. Do you raise aquarium plants and/or fish?

      • When I moved back from Silicon Valley I got my dream tank – 150 gallons or so. I never had such a big tank before. I was great until my son was born, now no time to keep it up. When the tank is on a stand it’s very difficult to clean. So it is sitting, waiting to be moved.

But I also started a few “ponds” with fish and plants in plastic buckets (that’s why I have lots of those plants). I also recently picked up a 15 gallon tank for $3 at a garage sale. Took my son to a Nuuanu Auwai and caught miscellaneous fish and crayfish. That tank sits outside in the sun, so water kinda green. OK, very green. But still fun to watch.

Always good to find others who enjoy relaxing in front of an aquarium.
