We Are Dead Children

We are dead children.

Dragons are falling to hell.

“Ignore them. Please fly!!!!!!!”

Only positive people win the long game!

Ever wondered why positive people make huge comebacks and negative people fade away? Negative people may be able to win the short game but only positive people win the long game!

I Find Comfort In The Dark.

I find comfort in the dark

where nothing exists.

The only noise I hear

are from my aching thoughts.

So I inhale my warm feelings

and exhale them to you.

Away they soar

to wherever you are.

Count Your Wins!

I counted 1,400 wins in 2017, the latest practice within my self-development system, an ever-evolving program I’ve used since I was about 10 years old. We’ve written our always-changing plan for our life, New Year’s Resolution, and our daily goals scheduled in our calendars. On top of these plans, I enjoy counting my daily wins, which keeps me moving towards my life goals and annual resolutions, boosts my happy chemicals of dopamine with every accomplishment, and keeps me mindful of all the good that is happening in my life daily, critical to show me that life is good, even during my darkest times. So count your wins – Time with your loved ones, win! Several hundred words for your document, win! Cooked a meal, win! Learned a new topic, win! Exercised, win! Kind gesture to another person, win! And on and on. Life is not just life, but an adventure.

Rainbow World Is Real

Go into the mist

at the end of the rainbow.

Enjoy Rainbow World.

– Jon Riki Karamatsu, Haiku Poem #109, 1/20/2018 –

I dedicate this Haiku poem to my nieces Elyse (age 4), Sophie (age 2), and Adalei (age 1 month).

It is what it is. What will be, will be.

On my last night visiting my sister Mia and her family in the Bay Area, California, I was playing make-believe with my niece Elyse, as we did a number of times while I was there. We gained supernatural powers and met with mystical and magical beings and creatures in various realms. A poison dragon exhaled some poison. I covered my mouth and told my niece that I was poisoned. “No, it’s trying to help you,” Elyse exclaimed. She grabbed a thick book belonging to my sister and read, “It is what it is. And what will be, will be.” I needed to hear those words, and its impact was huge because it came from my 5-year-old niece.

Dear Friend, I Miss You

You dance in my dreams,

then ask me to write to you.

“Dear friend, I miss you.”
