I finally finished reading “Memoirs of a Geisha” by Arthur Golden this morning at 1:55 A.M. on December 31, 2012. About 7 years ago, I bought this international bestseller novel and had started reading it back then but never finished. In early 2006, I went to see the movie with a friend but I was was falling asleep because I was so tired from my legislative work. I am glad I don’t remember the movie because I like the way the story played in my head as I read the book. I can picture the scenes and the characters through my imagination. My vision of the main character Sayuri is so different from the actress who portrayed her in the movie. “Memoirs of a Geisha” is such an emotionally moving story as I could really feel everything Sayuri was going through. As of now, it is my most favorite novel.
