Disappear

Good song.

Beyonce – “Disappear”

If I begged and if I cried
Would it change the sky tonight?
Will it give me sunlight?
Should I wait for you to call?
Is there any hope at all?
Are you drifting by?

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach you, I can almost feel you
You’re nearly here
And then, you disappear
(Disappear, disappear, disappear)
You disappear
(Disappear, disappear, disappear)

And then I lie all by myself
I see your face, I hear your voice
My heart stays faithful
And time has come and time has passed
If it’s good it’s got to last
It feels so right

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach you, I can almost feel you
You’re nearly here
And then, you disappear
(Disappear, disappear, disappear)
You disappear
(Disappear, disappear, disappear)
You disappear

I missed all the signs
One at a time, you were ready
What did I know starting our lives
Now my love, I’m ready to shine

When I think about it
I know that I was never there or even cared
The more I think about it
The less that I was able to share with you
I try to reach you, I can almost feel you
You’re nearly here
And then, you disappear
You disappear, you disappear
You disappear, you disappear

You disappear

Councilman “Duke” Bainum

On June 9, 2009, Councilman Duke Bainum, 56, died at about 11 p.m. of complications from an aneurysm.  In 2003 Spring,  he visited me at my office with his aide at the time, John White.  I would see him at events throughout the years since.  He was  a gentleman and very ambitious.  Just as he was making a comeback, it was shocking how quickly he passed away.  My heart goes out to his spirit, family, and loved ones.

On Saturday, June 13, 2009, my family celebrated my sister Lara Karamatsu’s birthday at Pagoda restaurant.  My other younger sister Mia was unable to attend because she is in Loma Linda, California finishing her fellowship for trauma care for children where she is a pediatrician.

Philippine Consulate General Independence Day Ball “Freedom Bash 2”

On Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6:00 P.M., I attended the Philippine Consulate General Independence Day Ball “Freedom Bash 2” at Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Tapa Ballroom.

It was also a farewell dinner for Consul General Ariel Y. Abadilla who has been posted in Honolulu since December 2005.  He will be Philippine Ambassador to Ireland.  Senator Clarence Nishihara, Senator Norman Sakamoto, and I made a few speeches and presented a certificate to him on stage.  In my speech, I stated, “One of my favorite memories with Consul General was when we had a strategy session at his house to help the Filipino community.  However, what I will miss the most is seeing his smile at all the events.”

I danced with a friend and even got Sen. Donna Kim to dance with me.
