Eric Takashi Maehara, 63, of Honolulu, a Legislative Reference Bureau attorney for the state Legislature, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Makena C., daughters Natasha P. and Elizabeth M., mother Mary S., brothers Marc and John, and sisters Carol Ann Takeuchi, Mona Maehara and Lois Tanaka. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday at Iolani School, St. Alban’s Chapel. Call after 5 p.m. Aloha attire. No flowers.

I worked for Eric awhile back. He was the kindest and sweetest guy in the world. He was a great boss. I will miss him very dearly. Deepest sympathy to his entire Family.

I just learned that Eric passed away. I am so sad to learn that he is gone. For me, he will forever be Mona’s young, handsome brother who was so sweet and so smart. I want to send my condolences to all the Maeharas. What a terrible loss this is.
I am Mark Kuklinsky’s sister and lived in Hawaii years ago. Now I am living in Georgia and out of touch. Forgive me for not sending a message sooner.
