This video on Mr. Richard Arvin Overton touched my heart. He’s someone I would love to have as a friend. Some of Mr. Overton’s traits reminds me of my late friend and mentor, Senator Nadao “Najo” Yoshinaga who served in the 100th Battalion during World War II, became a lawyer, and served in elected politics in Hawaii for 20 years from 1954 to 1974, changing much of our discriminatory laws, making healthcare and education more readily available, and supporting economic development. Najo passed away on December 29, 2009 at age 90.
Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed watching, listening, and learning from Mr. Overton. I also smiled. From childhood, I have been encouraged to respect my elders. Talk about wise, they are. I’ve heard it said that whenever one of these oldsters pass, so does a library full of books. I’m thankful to have as my passion spending quality time with people who are many years my senior. They have much to teach. They are also a hoot!

I’m glad you enjoyed the video of Mr. Overton that I linked on my blog. The seniors have so much to offer us, and we need to make the most of what time we have with them. Have a wonderful day!
