We control our lives, not our distortions, nor our evil.

We control our lives, not our distortions, nor our evil.

Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology mentions how we must confront our shadow, the darkness within the unconscious of all of us. If we can integrate it into our conscious and manage it, we can become better human beings.

By darkness, I include not only the evil in us but also our cognitive distortions that erode our peace. By practicing cognitive behavioral therapy daily, we are able to identify our cognitive distortions, face them, and manage them.

We control our lives, not our distortions, nor our evil. The almighty shadow can be put in its place when we light it up with our glowing desire for peace.
