Having a one-track mind can be good when you direct your obsession on improving your life! 😃
As a young boy, I was one-track minded when I wanted something. When I directed my obsessive energy at bettering myself like my skills for soccer or my knowledge for school, I could do great things. However, when I obsessed over things I couldn’t control, it could hamper my mindset.
Sometime during my time in 4th grade & 5th grade in elementary school, I wanted a G.I. Joe jet toy really badly. My mom said, “No, unless, I do well in school.” A year or two later, I achieved the grades needed to satisfy my mom in getting that toy. She taught me a huge lesson on the importance of bettering yourself & earning material goods the hard way. Honestly, many material things are just a bonus, most of which we can live without. When you work really hard for something, you really value it. 😊
Even now, I have a strong & long-lasting high off of improving myself instead of simply buying something to get that quick & short-lasting high. Things that I want are rewards for my hard work. By the way, I still have that G.I. Joe jet. It reminds me of the lesson my mom taught me. I love her so much. ❤️

This is how I woke up on Christmas day 2018. I slept in my nieces’ playroom. I really enjoyed Christmas with my family! I hope you had a good time as well!
Let’s end 2018 with all we’ve got! Let’s work on our goals in the last days of December with passion! Let’s add up our daily wins at the end of 2018, which should be a at least a couple thousand. Also, let’s write our 2019 resolutions, amend our life goals, amend our vision board (physical or digital) and attack more daily goals in the new year!
With Warmest Aloha,

When I was newly in this world, my grandma Ellen Sakai got me this awesome display for Boys Day from Japan protected by a glass box showing a baby boy and his daruma. They are determined to reach their goals despite others saying they can’t. A daruma is a doll that reminds you of your goals. You paint one eye when you have a goal and color in the other eye after you achieve it. A daruma is round so it will get back up when it is knocked down. The Japanese Zen have a saying, “Fall down seven times, get up eight.” I grew up very focused on what I want, even one track mind at times, obsessively attacking my most passionate goals. I’m always thinking about them even when I’m not working. I’ve learned to tame my obsession for my goals by understanding that there are things I can’t control, so I focus on what I can. Good luck on your goals! With Warmest Aloha, Jon
