My TV pilot teleplay, Eyes to Your Soul is a semifinalist for the The Script Lab screenplay competition in collaboration with Coverfly! As a result, it made CoverFly’s Red List and ranked #16 for its ranking for 1-hour horror television scripts.

Last year, I pivoted from writing novels to writing screenplays because I can execute several stories a year, and I love the rhythm and pace of it. Plus, my end goal for each story is to produce it into a movie as a writer and producer and hopefully a director if I can get mentored. Creativity makes your soul happier.

Creativity makes your soul happier.

Creativity makes your soul happier.

I recently watched The Florida Project on Netflix, a movie by Sean Baker about the innocence of kids making the most of their lives despite being poor. I cried. No matter what problems you have, there’s so many other people facing tougher challenges. What an amazing movie, with both playful humor and heart-wrenching drama!

My heart melts for the children going through so many difficulties. Resiliently, many of these kids are still able to find ways to have fun. In my second novel, I wrote about the adversities the children in Iraq faced after the invasion by the U.S. I’m still pitching this story to the literary industry.

I feel for all of you going through tough times. I believe some of your greatest work can come from your emotional pain. If you have something creative you enjoy working on, whether it be drawing, creative writing, craftsmanship, fixing-up vehicles, acting, singing, filmmaking, music production, interior decorating, making crafts, cooking, developing games, photography, software programming, sculpturing, pottery, or anything that sparks joy in your soul, keep doing it when you have time. In fact, make time for it. Creativity makes your soul happier. I love you guys!

I’m so happy for actor and entrepreneur Keanu Reeves for getting his hand and footprints memorialized in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre!

I’m so happy for #actor and #entrepreneur Keanu Reeves for getting his hand and footprints memorialized in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday May 14, 2019. When I was a teen, I told my mom and dad that he was going to be a huge star. With his mixed ethnicity of Hawaiian, Chinese, and Caucasian, he has represented us minorities in the U.S. well. Keanu’s #compassion and #humbleness has made him a #superstar among stars!!! 💫

Vanessa Hudgens Would Be A Top Choice For Lead Female Character In My First Novel

If I were ever so lucky to get my first novel published and made into a movie, a paranormal romance and suspense based in Hawaii, my top choice for the lead female role would be actress Vanessa Hudgens because the lead female character in my novel is Asian and Caucasian like her.  Moreover, she would play the personality of the character nicely who is loosely based off of someone who was once a small part of my life.

To change popular culture in the United States to be more reflective of its diversity, it is very important for writers, producers, and entrepreneurs to develop stories, novels, movies, products, and services that share the unique cultural and ethnic diversity in our country rather than what we mainly see in popular culture in the United States today. It has gotten better, but it still isn’t truly reflective. I’m optimistic that commercialized story-telling will become much broader.
