To distract me from worrying about tomorrow, I work on what I can today.
At times we decline opportunities to pursue our dreams, which causes us stress. I’ve been through it with my political and legal career, and now I’m going through it with my recent goals in the private sector. Focusing on what I can work on now has helped me move forward on my journey, even through the roughest parts. I wish you the best in your journey. I’m feeling you and cheering for you!
We can stay on the offense by working on things we can control. Reacting and panicking to things we can’t control will put us on the defense, destroying our mood, which in turn, kills our productivity.
Solitude, deep self-reflection, and meditation can bring us great power by opening up our energy towards the basics of our existence: love, empathy, compassion, mindfulness, and gratitude, which transcend our physical existence. Everything else is either a bonus or unnecessary noise.
Thinking of my loved ones who passed away, and those of you facing life threatening illnesses. If I spent five days in prison in order to have them back for a moment or to take away your suffering from killer diseases . . . I look within myself to find clarity. Love you all.
An example of nonattachment and gratitude combined. Two very powerful practices. “My love will always be attached to you, but not my selfish desires. I’m forever grateful for what I had with you. I love you.”
The Jedi religion creates killers. So does our societal system, as it provides the knowledge and skills needed for one’s selfish desire to rise to power just for the almighty feeling of having control. Like Luke Skywalker, maybe we need to detach from the current practices and instead, seek the middle within us, that calm and peaceful zone, just as the thousands of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas attempted before us. Let the old religion that develops killers die with us.
Ever wondered why positive people make huge comebacks and negative people fade away? Negative people may be able to win the short game but only positive people win the long game!
On my last night visiting my sister Mia and her family in the Bay Area, California, I was playing make-believe with my niece Elyse, as we did a number of times while I was there. We gained supernatural powers and met with mystical and magical beings and creatures in various realms. A poison dragon exhaled some poison. I covered my mouth and told my niece that I was poisoned. “No, it’s trying to help you,” Elyse exclaimed. She grabbed a thick book belonging to my sister and read, “It is what it is. And what will be, will be.” I needed to hear those words, and its impact was huge because it came from my 5-year-old niece.
My office tonight, the dining table at my sister Mia and brother-in-law Mike’s beautiful house. Task by task, day by day, we will eventually get there. It may take years, but it’ll be worth it!!!
Anything is possible when you have dragons!!! Let’s keep attacking our goals like a dragon on fire!!! Oh, and a nice lover to share the experiences with, would be a bonus. 😍
Positive practices every single day, every single hour, every single minute, and every single second is the only way.
If our soul is consistently filled with love, our mind will always be filled with love, and if our mind regularly has love, our actions will constantly deliver love to everyone . . everyone. Only then, will we understand enlightenment.
End the excuses. If we get mad for stupid reasons, we will get killed by our stupidity. No one can save us, but ourselves.
As for all the negative people – they can steal, scream, and hit. We’ll just transcend past them and their little messed up box while we enjoy the many good things in our lives and the universe.
If we all attain inner peace, our country and world will be at peace.
This song “Freedom” by Steve Angella and Pusha T. has the beat and sound of my writing.
Death will come for all of us, so there’s no need for a majority of our bickering. On our last days alive, if we have that luxury, we won’t care about most of our disagreements and worries. We can focus on the water that’s in our cup and keep filling it up by taking action on what we can control. Peace in our mind, body, and soul through our daily practices such as but not limited to learning, execution on our passionate ideas, exercise, sharing positivity with others, mindfulness, and gratitude.
I’m feeling this song “Better” by Rihanna ft. The Chainsmokers & Martin Garrix. For those of you going through some struggles and heartache, I dedicate this song to you. With the bigger picture in mind, most things are not worth fighting about. If balance can be achieved, there’s a chance to save love.
When we consistently work at our goals, our highest potential is revealed, and often times, we will attain things we’ve dreamt about. – Jon Riki Karamatsu, 9/20/2017 –
We can still love a person or a thing, so long as we are not attached to our desire for them. Attachment to what we desire will only lead us to suffering.
Events and people move in and out of our lives – just let them all go. Love the good ones, but don’t let your desires drag you down. Dislike the bad ones, but don’t let the pain drag you down. The only thing that remains consistent is you, unless you let them all drag you down.
It’s better to have loved than to never have loved at all. Not my quote, but a very powerful and widely used one. Or perhaps, like my first novel, maybe we will find our true love in the realms of the dead?
Is peace forever elusive? It seems, so long as there are humans, there will always be those who hurt others emotionally and physically. Yet, it is the energy of negative people that fires up the power of those who are positive. With bad people, as much as their acts feels terrible, they make the world more challenging and gives the good people a greater purpose. If the world was perfect, we may take things for granted because there would be less bad experiences to compare to, and there would be no need for heroes. So long as there are people who harm others with words or might, it is the hero in all of us who will keep the world tipped towards compassion, empathy, and love.
