Using my backpack instead of my briefcase more recently since I walk a lot. Here, I’m about to enter a meeting to present my latest content for a project. Quadrupling down on my offense as I wrote several thousand words a week and read even more on relevant material for 4 projects on the front burners that have converged.
Not as bad as when I was campaigning as a politician, walking door-to-door to over 66,000 homes, burning holes into my pants until you can see my underwear, and losing 10 to 20 lbs. every election year.
Focusing on what I can control and executing on my ideas. Sometimes it can be lonely. As many say, hustling is about doing, not just talking. If we want it, we have to do the work. So have fun doing your work my friends!!! I’m feeling you.

Chaired my board of directors meeting for Jodo Shu Hawaii earlier and now working at Coffee Talk in Kaimuki, Hawaii while my mom attends a meeting for wellness products. I’ve been in the zone for the past week, pulling off nonstop writing and learning sessions of up to 10 hours straight at coffee shops. I snapped out of a low and depressive energy period caused by stress and anxiety – partly because life and death became very real when I had to save my cousin-in-law from choking on food. There’s so much I want to accomplish before I die. I want to play a small role in providing value to others, especially in products and services that can help others find peace. So excited to work!!!

On Saturday February3, 2018, I, along with one of my board members of Jodo Shu Hawaii, met with our property manager to go over the construction repairs of our apartment building. Here is a picture of our temple and office building. Worked all day Friday, the day before, until the sun came up for a small concert I have a minority interest in. I posted some deep stuff on my blog and social media about nonattachment and Luke Skywalker just to get my mind off of work. Need some sleep and then back to the grind on my other projects that also need a lot of work to be done.

Awesome and inspiring 95,800 square foot maintenance and cargo aircraft hangar by Hawaiian Airlines on its 21-acre site at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii!!! The hangar can accommodate up to five Boeing 717 aircraft at the same time with indoor maintenance and cargo operations. On its lot, Hawaiian Airlines has a two-level office building and 143-stall parking lot. Hawaiian Airlines is one of my favorite airlines because of its friendly service and nice amenities such as its complimentary food and beverages on flights and mileage program with many vendors.

Yesterday, my mom dropped off turkey jook (turkey and rice soup) at my home. I’m super grateful for the thoughtfulness of my mom. I love her! Today, my energy is low, and I’m feeling mentally down even though I received good news early this morning on one of my projects, got a nice email from a new friend and potential business partner, and glad for a couple of decisions I made on two stocks. Yet, I feel down. Strange how we can have these mixed emotions. Thus, my mom’s soup really gave me some comfort today. I will attempt to do some work tonight to lift my spirit! I used to be in the top 1% with my health examinations, but a year ago, my LDL or bad cholesterol went up into the high-risk zone. Stress from my high-risk endeavors and eating out with not the healthiest foods so I could keep working on my projects may have contributed to this. My HDL or good cholesterol has always been high, which helps, but I wanted to improve, so I’ve been eating oatmeal regularly, as well as brown rice, other grains, and vegetables to get the fiber I needed to take away the bad cholesterol. I also increased my exercise to help raise my HDL. This year, my doctor and I were happy I’m back in the healthy zone. Here I am on the morning of October 14, 2017, about to cook my oatmeal. May good health be with you! The longer we live, the more we can do!

I just woke up from a bad dream where I was with one of the two former business partners who stole money from my other business partner and I. I woke up with my heart racing. I began thinking of my other bad experiences in my career, where certain judges and politicians punished me harder because of the high positions I held in government at a young age, to make an example of me before others and sometimes the public. Power and money play a role in making people do mean things against others. My good friend Brandon Mitsuda texted me this beautiful picture of Capri, Italy. Mindfulness is being present in the moment and making the most of it. The past is the past, the future will be the future, but we can do a lot with now. I immersed myself with the positive vibes radiating in the Starbucks coffee shop in Pearl City and savored the taste of my Salted Caramel Mocha Frapuccino as I engaged in my work on my MacBook Pro, my favorite toy for 4.5 hours in preparation for next week with all my business partners flying into Honolulu, Hawaii so we can meet with government departments and companies.

Hawaii Council of Jodo Missions 41st Biennial Convention took place at Jodo Mission of Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 25, 16, and 17. In this statewide organization, I’ve been serving as Chair of the Bishop Nominating Committee since I believe 2007. Bishop Gensho Hara decided to step down and Rev. Yubun Narashiba was elected as Bishop.

With Hawaii Attorney General Doug Chin at Peace Day Hawaii 2017 at SGI USA, Honolulu, Hawaii on September 16, 2017. Attorney General Chin and I met at my office when I was Chairman of the Judiciary Committer in the Hawaii State House of Representatives in 2009 when he was First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu. Chin made a speech on equal rights. I thanked him for all his work. I’m so proud of him. He’s been defending equality for immigrants from policy moves made by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Peace Day Hawaii 2017 event will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, 2:00-7:30 pm, which is free and open to the public at Soka Gakkai International (SGI) Culture Center, 2729 Pali Highway, Honolulu, Hawaii.
In 2007, when I served as a Hawaii State Representative, I worked with community leaders, legislators, and children in passing House Bill 345 into law as Act 23, declaring “September 21st of each year shall be known and recognized as “Peace Day” to promote peace programs, improve international relations, and increase educational awareness of peace.” Hawaii was the first State to recognize a day of peace, a goal I continue to work on through my efforts with nonviolence teachings, Buddhism, and my novels.
