I finished my 15th Honolulu Marathon on December 11, 2022!



Running is a super practice I have control over. It helps my mind, body, and soul. The deep breathing alleviates my stress and anxiety. Sometimes, it’s meditative. Other times, I get ideas. I especially enjoy listening to upbeat music while running to keep me motivated. The sunlight revives me. The sky, clouds, trees, grass, and flowers relax me. Everything about running makes me feel good. I’m super grateful to be able to enjoy this activity so much.
This is a picture of me on 9/10/2021 when I completed my 100th Exercise for 2021: Ran 4.08 miles in Waikele (Ran 296.8 mi. total for 2021). At home, I executed my 52nd strength training for 2021 with 200 crunches and 200 push-ups.

Exercise and mindfulness help me to care for my mental and physical health. Add listening to music to these activities and you have a triple threat against your cognitive distortions.
On July 14, 2021, I executed my 82nd #exercise for the year by #running 3.52 miles. I ran 250.09 miles so far for 2021. When I returned home, I completed my 40th strength training for 2021.

I received my second COVID-19 vaccine shot from Hawaii Pacific Health at Pier 2, Honolulu, Hawaii. I’m feeling super grateful for this opportunity and for everyone involved in making this happen from the scientists to the workers and volunteers. ❤

Don’t believe your distorted emotions are the truth. For example, you make a mistake and tell yourself, “I feel like an idiot; therefore, I am an idiot.” No you’re not an idiot. You made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. In that case, everyone is an idiot. Please. That’s simply not true.
Let’s say you broke up with your lover, and this is the third time you’ve had a serious relationship. You tell yourself, “Since this is my third break-up, no one will ever love me.” Again, your emotions are grossly exaggerated. You have many potential partners out there, and if they had an opportunity to know you, many of them could fall in love with you.

I ran my 12th Honolulu Marathon on Sunday December 8, 2019! Here, I picked up my Honolulu Marathon Finisher Certificate at the Hawaii Convention Center on Monday December 9, 2019.
I ran my 12th Honolulu Marathon on Sunday December 8, 2019! I’m super grateful for my mom dropping me off near Ala Moana Beach Park at 5:00 A.M. and then picking me up later at Kapiolani Park where we finish the race. She’s been doing this for me for the past 12 races.
On Monday December 9, 2019, I picked up my finisher certificate at the Hawaii Convention Center wearing my finisher t-shirt.
My sister Mia convinced my sister Lara and I to run this marathon in 2008. I’ve continued running this race ever since as an encouragement for me to continue exercising.
For 2020, I plan to increase my cardio and strength training to the level I was at 2017 and prior. My business projects have been struggling so I’ve been focusing so much of my time on work and neglected my exercise. I’m so pumped up to increase my training!

You’ve seen enough death to know that your time could be up at anytime. So work hard on how you want to be remembered as, now!
You’ve seen enough death to know that your time could be up at anytime. So work hard on how you want to be remembered as, now!
Accepting your vulnerability that you could die at any time is not something you may want to think about. However, there’s a way you can make it positive. You could look at your future demise as the celebration of your life:
(1) The people you’ve touched with your love and kind gestures;
(2) The positive impact you’ve made on others through your work on a service or product; and
(3) Beneficial content you’ve created for your loved ones and the greater community.
I’ve written down in my life plan, annual plans, and daily plans, the things I want to do for others and the community before I die. I schedule it in my calendar so I can execute most of them before my time is up.
For your fun homework, write down all the things you want to do that will be your legacy for your loved ones and the community. Write down even the craziest things you want to do that would be super impactful, practical, educational, or fun! Next, write them into your life plan, annual plans, and daily plans. Most importantly, schedule them into your calendar and execute on them!

Finding your purpose that makes your heart sing is what you desire. It’s what we all desire. If you have your purpose, awesome! Keep working on it! If you haven’t found your purpose, I have a fun homework for you. Write down 10 things you enjoy doing. Then, write 10 ways you can provide value for others for each of the 10 things you enjoy doing. Next, pick your favorite value and find a company, non-profit organization, or government agency that provides that value and see if you can work for them. If no entity provides your favorite value, you may have an opportunity to launch a new company or non profit organization to fill in that void or disrupt an existing service or product that can be improved.
